The Velocity Steps EP6 is our latest addition to the electric assist Orbit range. Built using a lightweight aluminium frame, the tandem uses the Shimano Steps EP6 250W motor and a 504wh battery. Battery weighs 2.9kg, and takes 4 hours for a full charge, however, it is 80% charged after the initial 2 1/2 hours. Range of course depends upon rider weight, wind, tyre selection & altitude gain, but it can be as much as 70 miles per charge. The 250W motor is the highest output system that is road legal in the UK, giving up to 85Nm of torque. The EP6 is a new motor Shimano produce and has plenty of torque which makes it very suitable for tandem use. This type of electric assist is called a mid-drive system, the engine runs through the gears, and correct use of the gears when climbing make the system really efficient, and allows a light weight motor to be used whilst still giving out a great amount of torque, which is needed for pedalling up the hills. Built in North Yorkshire, and finished with top quality components from Shimano the Steps EP6 is designed for couples who want a high performance electric assist tandem. Shimano Linkglide gearing, again another fabulous new range from Shimano, with the cassettes being designed for longevity and G6000 wheels give this tandem a really superb feel. This tandem is 248cm long with both wheels in and 210cm long with the front wheel out in the 19/15 size. Wow, what an amazing tandem the Moustache is. The twin battery system coupled with Bosch's top of the range motor is incredible. The range of course will vary from one team to another, but I challenge you to drain both batteries on a ride. The Performance CX motor is located at the rear allowing the pedals to stay in sync, which is probably more important off road than on. Moustache call it a smiling machine, come and try it you will soon see why. This tandem is 257cm long with both wheels in and 222cm long with the front wheel out. Test ride model available. The Velocity E6100 is designed and built in the Yorkshire Dales using Shimano's E6100 mid-drive motor and is perfectly suited to the hills. The low gearing will take you up the steepest of climbs and the 3 brakes will take you down the steepest of descents with confidence. The Velocity can take plenty of luggage with the front fork being rack compatible too, and it's 48 spoke wheels make it a great touring machine. The Velocity is assembled for each customer so we can customise it to suit you exactly, drop handlebars are an option on the front as well. This Velocity is a 2022 model, it's available in one really flexible size, 27 speed gearing and twin disc brakes are standard. Weighs 18.7kg Size wise it'll suit a front rider from about 5'7" upto 6'1", and rear from around 5' to 5'8", depending on leg length.

The Velocity Trail has a 11 x 1 speed drive train, and makes a great trail riding tandem, hence it's name. This is a very popular model with hire centres. Twin disc brake and 700c wheels fitted with wide tyres, makes this tandem super comfy to ride. 48-spoke wheels come as standard. Weight in medium 20.8kg
