MAKING A PURCHASE
Consider a Test RideIf you're seriously interested in buying a tandem, why not come and visit us for a free of charge test ride of the models you like the look of? And don't worry if one or both of you has never ridden a tandem before, we'll be on hand to provide any tuition or support you might need in the beginning.
When will our tandem be ready? It depends upon what you choose, we try to hold stock of all of the popular sizes of the Cannondale & Ridgeback tandems - but sometimes the manufacturers run out of stock. We hold stock of nearly all of our Orbit tandem frames – except custom, of course. Once the order for an Orbit tandem is confirmed we can then advise on the current build time, this is usually about 2 weeks, occasionally we can be as long as 4 weeks, but this is very unusual.
Our Summit range are all made to order and the lead time for these varies from about 6 weeks to 4 months, with the average frame being ready in around 3 months.
How do I place an order? In person is always great, we love to meet our customers, and we have test ride models of nearly every tandem we sell, so a visit to our showroom will be very worthwhile.
Alternatively by telephone, email or simply online. We supply a lot of tandems mail order both within the UK and in Europe and this is something we are very experienced at. So if you can't visit don't worry just pick up the phone to talk to us or ping us an email, or complete our sizing and which model enquiry forms on the website and we'll come back to you promptly.
How do I Pay for the tandem? We accept all major debit & credit cards or payment by bank transfer (bacs).
If we are building you one of our standard models with an aluminium frame then no deposit is needed, just pay when it's ready. If it's a custom frame size or a model from our Summit range then we require a 20% deposit. All tandems must be paid for in full upon collection or prior to dispatch.
Receiving your tandem by courier – UK customersWe use Parcelforce, who operate a 48 hour large service within the UK. Note they do not deliver large items such as tandems north of Inverness, so if you are in the north part of Scotland, you might have to collect your tandem from their Inverness depot. We charge just £50 for delivery within the UK for a standard tandem and £100 for an electric assist tandem.
On the agreed delivery day someone will have to be available all day to take delivery, however they do show a 1 hour window for delivery once the van has been loaded. Our experience of their service in regard to reliability is excellent. However, if staying all day is not possible we can arrange to deliver your tandem to your work address or to a friendly neighbour.
When your tandem leaves us it is usually boxed in a brand new card board box, it should arrive with you in a box that looks brand new, Parcelforce have never damaged one of our tandems before, we have had the odd broken mudguard but nothing that can't be easily resolved, but if the box looks damaged, please sign for the package as damaged.
Your tandem has been lovingly built, checked and then test ridden, we then remove the front wheel, mudguard (and front pannier rack if specified). The front & rear handlebars are removed, saddles are removed or inserted lower into the frame, and your pedals will need re-fitting. The re-assembly needed is something most of our customers are happy doing, and we provide full instructions, but if you are not confident in your skills take the tandem to a bike shop for re-assembly by a professional.
Receiving your tandem by courier – overseas customersWe use TNT International, who operate all over Europe, the delivery time from leaving us to arriving with you is between 2 and 5 working days depending where you live, and we can confirm which day they expect to deliver when we arrange dispatch of your tandem. They are pretty reliable but logistically it's impossible for them to always be 100%. We charge just £250 for delivery within Europe.

To reduce the chance of the tandem getting damaged in transit we often package it smaller than for UK deliveries and it maybe that your tandem will be more stripped down than usual.
